This film will change your mind about being "ordinary"
In 1956, the great Jacques Tati wrote a screenplay known simply as
Jacques Tati Film No. 4. After his death it just gathered dust in a
cupboard, until Sylvain Chomet approached Tati`s daughter Sophie. He
obtained the copywright and turned the screenplay into a masterpiece of
animation called The Illusionist. In a hardboiled culture with no time
for the poetry and mystery of life, this film might change your mind
about what it means to lead an "ordinary" life. If you buy or hire the DVD, do watch the interview with Chomet from the Edinburgh Festival. He has some interesting things to say!
